The overall goal of deliverance is wholeness.

Christ came that we might have life and have it more abundantly.

Deliverance can often be received in one event.

E.g; Most healing and deliverance in the bible.

Deliverance can also be received in a process- E.g

Mary Magdalene who had 7 demons cast out of her,

the person who received healing of leprosy on their way back , Naaman who had to dip in water 7 times.

So do not be discouraged God knows best and will do accordingly to how He deems fit.

What may happen during healing and deliverance

  • Spitting up phlegm, Coughing, burping, deep yawns or sighs, vomiting, shaking, screams
  • Using your voice to communicate with the Prophet
  • physically struggling with those ministering to and through you
  • demonic convulsions
  • Strange feelings or emotions when certain spirits of emotions are addressed
  • Full or partial loss of consciousness(spirits suppressing your consciousness as they manifest or fully aware of what is happening but unable to control it) or you may stay fully conscious

Maintaining your deliverance

  1. Know your enemy- Ephesians 6:12 we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Though people may have abused or hurt us we must walk in forgiveness and let God do the rest.
  2. Spend more time in prayer
  3. Daily bible reading/study
  4. Involvement in local church and regular attendance
  5. In case of any issue feel free to contact leadership ie in terms of support, advice, prayer when feeling weak or having problems or even an attack
  6. Break bad habits: watch the gates- the eye gate, the ear gate and the mind gate. Ask God to give you the mind of Christ and believe that you have received it. Thank God for giving you the mind of Christ, and be sensitive to the warnings and gentle prompting from the Holy Spirit. The mind is a battlefield and you will have to consciously train your mind and make conscious decisions to stay away from temptations and old habits. Give no place to the devil. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 2 Corinthians 3:18 as you behold the glory of God( through prayer, reading His Word and embracing what He tells you) you will become changed into the same image- from glory to Glory, by the power and working of the Holy Spirit.
  7. Get connected with fellow Christians and have someone you be you can be accountable to or approach.
  8. Forgive forgive forgive and leave it all to God. Do not entertain any thoughts about people who have caused offence in your life. It will only just set you back by opening the door of unforgiveness ( Matthew 5:23,24 and Mark 11:25)
  9. Let go of toxic relationships and break them off and pray for them
  10. Don’t be afraid. FEAR NOT!!!!!

There are various processes of receiving deliverance

  1. Driving demons out
  2. Pulling down strongholds including mindsets
  3. Removing legal grounds and closing open doors-e.g sins unconfessed, soul ties that are ungodly, possessions that are cursed, occultic, demonic or unforgiveness.
  4. Removal through repentance or renunciation
  5. Maintenance of deliverance by Being built up in Christ, renewed and living victoriously in Christ
